Quick Start Tutorial

Get up and running with PriceSquawk in under 5 minutes! This tutorial will guide you through your first trading session with audio market monitoring.

Step 1: Access the Dashboard

  1. Log into your PriceSquawk account at app.pricesquawk.com
  2. Wait for the "Market Data Subscription Active" confirmation
  3. You should see the main dashboard with navigation menu on the left

Step 2: Launch Your First Widget

  1. Expand the Widgets Menu: Click on "Widgets" in the left navigation
  2. Select Trade Sounds: Click on "Trade Sounds" from the dropdown menu
  3. Widget Opens: The Trade Sounds widget will appear in the main area

Step 3: Select a Symbol

  1. Symbol Popup: A symbol selection popup will appear automatically
  2. Choose Your Market:
    • Futures: Try "ES" (S&P 500 E-mini) or "NQ" (NASDAQ 100 E-mini)
    • Stocks: Try "AAPL", "MSFT", or "TSLA"
    • Crypto: Try "BTCUSDT" or "ETHUSDT"
  3. Confirm Selection: Click on your chosen symbol

Step 4: Start Listening

  1. Audio Begins: You should immediately hear trade sounds
  2. Left Speaker = Selling: Trades at the bid (selling pressure)
  3. Right Speaker = Buying: Trades at the ask (buying pressure)
  4. Volume = Size: Louder sounds indicate larger trades and higher volume flows

Step 5: 30-Second Audio Test

What You Should Hear:

  • Series of clicks, tones, or speech sounds
  • Left channel sounds = selling pressure (red/down moves)
  • Right channel sounds = buying pressure (green/up moves)
  • Varying volumes based on trade sizes

If You Don't Hear Anything:

  • Check your browser audio permissions
  • Verify system volume is up
  • Ensure the widget isn't muted
  • Try selecting a more active symbol

Step 6: Explore Basic Controls

  1. Mute/Unmute: Use the "Mute All" checkbox in the top controls
  2. Minimize: Toggle the "Minimize" checkbox to reduce visual clutter
  3. Reset Pitch: Click "Reset Pitch" to recenter pitch levels

Step 7: Add More Widgets

  1. PriceSquawk Widget: Add for spoken price announcements
  2. Tape Pressure: Monitor buying vs selling pressure
  3. Alerts: Set price or time alerts

Understanding the Audio

Trade Sounds Basics

  • Pitch: Higher pitch = higher price, lower pitch = lower price
  • Volume: Louder = larger trade size or higher volume
  • Stereo Position: Left = sell, Right = buy
  • Rhythm: Fast trades = active market, slow = quiet market

Market Context

  • High Volume Period: Sounds become generally louder
  • Low Volume Period: Sounds become softer
  • Volatility: More frequent and dramatic sound changes
