Sierra Chart Bridge

The PriceSquawk Bridge is the updated PriceSquawk integration for Sierra Chart. It is a custom study that runs on your charts, while the PriceSquawk web app in your browser provides the interface, widgets and sound engine. Everything runs locally on your PC.

Requirements​

  • Sierra Chart 64-bit on Windows
  • A PriceSquawk account with an active free trial or a plan that includes the Platform data source (Basic or dxFeed)
  • Your browser and Sierra Chart on the same PC

Install​

  1. Download PriceSquawk-Sierra-Installer.exe.
  2. Close Sierra Chart. The study stays loaded while Sierra Chart runs, so the installer cannot replace it. If you prefer to keep Sierra Chart open, use Analysis >> Build Custom Studies DLL >> Release All DLLs and Deny Load first.
  3. Run the installer. Confirm your Sierra Chart folder (usually C:\SierraChart). The study, PriceSquawk_64.dll, is copied into the Data folder of that installation.
Windows SmartScreen

Because the installer is new, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. The installer only copies one file into your Sierra Chart Data folder.

If Sierra Chart is installed under C:\Program Files, right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.

Add the study and sign in​

  1. Start Sierra Chart and open a chart for the symbol you want to hear.
  2. Analysis >> Studies >> Add Custom Study >> PriceSquawk >> PriceSquawk Bridge, then Add and OK.
  3. The PriceSquawk Bridge window opens. Click Sign In. Your browser opens the PriceSquawk sign-in page; sign in with your PriceSquawk account and return to Sierra Chart. The window shows your account once you are signed in.
  4. Repeat step 2 on every chart you want to hear in PriceSquawk. All charts share the one bridge window, and its Symbols list shows the symbols currently available to the web app.

To reopen the window later, right-click the chart and choose PriceSquawk Bridge....

Use it in the web app​

  1. Open the PriceSquawk web app and click Add Symbol.
  2. Choose the Platform tab. Your Sierra Chart symbols are listed; pick one to start listening.

Connection settings (advanced)​

Most users never need to change anything here. The study and the web app connect to each other over a local WebSocket on localhost, using port 5050 by default. If that port is taken on your PC, change it in the bridge window (Port then Apply) or in the study's WebSocket Port input, and set the same value in the web app under Dashboard Settings >> Platform Port.

Troubleshooting​

  • The browser asks to allow apps on your device - click Allow. The web app needs your permission before it can reach the plugin on your PC. If the prompt was dismissed or blocked, follow Browser Permission for Platform Feeds, then click Connect on the Platform tab.
  • "Not connected to Platform" in the web app - make sure Sierra Chart is running with the study added to at least one chart and the bridge window shows Server: Running. Then click Retry Connection.
  • No symbols listed - only charts that carry the study appear in the web app. Add the study to the chart.
  • Nothing plays until you sign in - the study stays idle until the bridge window shows your account.
  • Port in use - if the PriceSquawk desktop app is also running its bridge on port 5050, close it or change the port in the bridge window.

Uninstall​

Close Sierra Chart, then remove PriceSquawk Bridge for Sierra Chart from Windows Settings >> Apps. This deletes the study DLL and your saved sign-in.
